Yes, just prior to leaving office, long-serving California Governor Jerry Brown - who has just completed a second long, eight-year, stint in that formidable role - got to see what was arguably his own pet project finally enacted into law. Though I notice the Wikipedia page thereabouts never once mentions him in its fairly un-extensive 'piece' thereabouts, it would hardly take a rocket scientist to surmise that Governor Brown would have been exceedingly pleased, even proud, to have finally left office with the legalization of recreational marijuana use, as it were, 'under his belt'...
Sure, Californian voters themselves voted in proposition 215 to approve the Legislature's 'Adult Use of Marijuana Act', and this was made law in early 2018 - quite apart from Brown himself - but anyone knowing his personal history thereabouts - from way back - would surely have to be a tad naive not to see his fingerprints writ large all over this particular referendum-approved legislation.
I mean, for crying out loud, the dude was busted attending a dope-smokin' party not all that long ago!
