Though I missed some of said email, the U.S.A. & Oz and even (the once) God's Own - in its 1877 Education Act - have all long realized 'the later the better'. That great patron saint of alternative schooling, the late, great Rudolf Steiner himself, and those educational facilities he set in motion, have long since understood the need for children to begin many activities 'later on' also, at a time more suited to their developing minds and bodies. And as said e-correspondent  aptly concluded, "Give 'em a break - let 'em be kids a little while longer" (or some such thing). The Good Lord knows they're moulded into little adults all too readily anyhow.
